Our worship and music styles are contemporary. Our worship service includes the following regular elements:

We begin with prayer and singing. Our music is contemporary and vibrant, including many different styles. We are blessed with a fabulous Worship Music Leadership Team including, Mark Abulencia, pianist, Priscilla Medina, vocalist, and other guest musicians including the use of guitars, drums, choral and soloists.

Then we celebrate our coming together as God’s people in what we call Community Time. During this part we welcome one another into this vibrant community of God’s people and share our Celebrations and Thanksgivings - the blessings for which we are thankful, and the places where God has touched our lives.

Following this we Center on the Word of God for our lives today. We join in singing a centering song, listen for the Word of God through the reading of Scripture, and listen for the way in which God’s Word becomes real and relevant for us through some of the most creative and best preaching you’ve ever heard. That’s a promise!

Next is our Prayer Time, which is an open time when everyone has the opportunity to offer their prayers of thanksgiving as well as prayers for those with special needs or circumstances. We pray for ourselves, our loved ones, our neighbors and all the people of the world.

We conclude with Blessing and Sending Forth. Worship at West Hollywood Church is not a spectator sport. It’s an experience of involvement with God and with the world. It is expected that as we leave worship we are sent forth with God’s Blessing, to be the eyes and hands and heart of God in the world.

We celebrate two Sacraments: Communion and Baptism.

At West Hollywood Presbyterian Church, Communion IS the celebration of the new life God offers us through the Resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Everyone is graciously invited to receive the Sacrament of Communion.  This Sacrament is for each and every one of us, including children of all ages. Through this Sacrament, God's LOVE and God's GRACE is freely offered to each and all of us. In the breaking of the Bread and the partaking of the Cup, together, we share in Christ’s feast of new LIFE.

baptismWe celebrate the Sacrament of Communion on the first Sunday of the month during ordinary time and on Special Sundays of the church year such as the first Sunday of Advent, The Baptism of Jesus, the First Sunday of Lent, Easter Day and the Day of Pentecost..

The Sacrament of Baptism is available for both infants and children and also for Adults.  Baptism is the sacrament through which we are named and welcomed into the family of faith as a beloved child of God, no matter our age.

Children and youth are greatly valued and celebrated in our life and ministry. They are included in our worshipping community during the Sunday morning worship service up until the time of the sermon. They then go over to the Parish Hall for a Church School Lesson that is interactive and age-appropriate. Towards the end of the service the kids rejoin us for The Prayers and the Blessing and Sending Forth.
